Hoxhunt Alternatives in 2026: What to Compare Before You Decide
Comparing Hoxhunt alternatives? See how Keepnet handles voice, SMS, QR and callback simulation, what Hoxhunt does well, and which fits your program.

Teams looking at Hoxhunt alternatives usually are not unhappy with the training itself. Hoxhunt added Voice Phishing Training in October 2025, so the question is no longer whether voice is covered at all. It is where the call happens. In the 2026 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, phone-centric simulations show a median click rate of around 2 percent against roughly 1.4 percent for email, with phone-based failure about 40 percent higher (Verizon, 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report, p. 50). Keepnet contributed its own voice and SMS simulation data to that report and appears among the contributing organizations on page 118.
What Does Hoxhunt Do Well?
Hoxhunt built its reputation on engagement. The training is gamified, the reporting flow is easy for employees, and adoption tends to be high because people do not experience it as a compliance task. For an organization whose main problem is that nobody completes training, that is a real strength and worth saying plainly.
The question is what happens after adoption. Engagement tells you people are taking part. It does not tell you how susceptibility differs between a phishing email and a voice call to the same person.
Hoxhunt has also moved beyond email. Voice Phishing Training, launched in October 2025, lets an employee hold a two way conversation with an AI voice agent inside the Hoxhunt experience, and a separate exercise places the employee in a simulated video meeting with a deepfake. Saying that Hoxhunt is email only would be inaccurate.
Why Teams Look for a Hoxhunt Alternative
Three reasons come up most often.
Reporting is organization wide rather than per channel, so a single susceptibility figure hides which channel is actually failing. That matters when the board asks where the risk sits.
Simulation variety runs out. Once a workforce has seen the same style of test for a year, results flatten and it becomes hard to tell whether behavior improved or people simply learned the pattern.
Buying constraints. Some teams want the simulation engine without a full training library, or want to keep their existing library and add channels around it.
How Keepnet Is Different
Keepnet runs simulations on six channels from one platform: email, voice, SMS, QR code, callback and deepfake. Each channel has its own campaign manager and its own reporting, so susceptibility can be compared per channel rather than reported as a single organization-wide number.
Voice simulations use two way AI conversations rather than a recorded message, which matters because the failure mode in a real vishing call is the conversation, not the greeting.
Every product can be bought on its own. The security awareness training library is not mandatory, so a team that already solved training can take only the simulation side.
The AI layer is agent based rather than a single assistant. Specialized agents run a continuous loop of plan, create, deliver, measure and improve. An admin chooses between approval gated and autonomous execution. Generation is grounded in documents you upload, the platform keeps an organizational memory, personal data is stripped before anything reaches the model, and the AI provider is configured for no retention and no training.
The platform is SCORM compatible, so existing content can stay where it is.
Localization goes past translation. Templates are adapted per region, including subject lines, body copy, currency, date format and tone, so a simulation reads like something that would actually arrive in that market.
Employees can report a suspicious SMS or call from the phone itself through the Keepnet SMS and Call Reporter, currently on the App Store for iPhone. Those reports land in Incident Responder next to reported email, and the underlying data can be exported through the REST API or pushed to a SIEM.
Keepnet vs Hoxhunt: What to Compare
| Dimension | Keepnet | What to check on any alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Simulation channels | Email, voice, SMS, QR, callback, deepfake | Which channels can you actually test, and can you report on each separately |
| Voice simulation | Two way AI conversation | Is it a recorded message or a real exchange |
| Buying model | Any product on its own, training library optional | Are you forced to take the full suite |
| Existing content | SCORM compatible | Can you keep the library you already built |
| Running alongside | Runs next to an existing tool, licenses can be co-termed | Do you have to replace everything at once |
| AI depth | Agent based: multi-agent orchestration, approval gated or autonomous execution, grounding on your own documents, organizational memory, PII stripped before processing, no retention and no training | Is the AI a content generator, or does it run the program end to end |
| Languages and localization | Library in more than 30 languages; templates adapted per region, including subject lines, currency, date format and tone | Is it translation only, or adapted to the market |
| Mobile reporting | SMS and Call Reporter on iPhone, reports land in Incident Responder, data exportable through REST API or SIEM | How does someone report a threat that arrives on their phone, and where does that report go |
Keepnet compared with Hoxhunt
Can You Run Keepnet Alongside Hoxhunt?
Yes. Keepnet can run next to an existing awareness tool, and additional licenses can be co-termed to an existing contract. Teams often start with the channels their current tool does not cover, measure both for a quarter, and decide with data rather than at renewal under time pressure.
Which Alternative Fits Your Reason for Switching?
If the reason is channel coverage, look at what can be simulated outside email and whether each channel reports separately.
If the reason is buying flexibility, check whether products can be taken individually and whether your existing training library can stay.
If the reason is engagement, be honest that this is where Hoxhunt is strong, and test adoption in a pilot rather than assuming a replacement will match it.
If the reason is measurement, ask what the platform reports beyond completion. 84 percent of leaders track training completion as a top metric (Gartner, "6 Ways to Transform Your Cybersecurity Awareness Program", G00840741, March 2026, 2025 Secure Behavior Strategies Survey, n=65), while the human element appeared in 62 percent of breaches (Verizon, 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report, p. 12). Completion is not the number that moves.
See It on Your Own Environment
The fastest way to compare is a short pilot on the channel you cannot currently test. Book a 30 minute walkthrough and run it against your own users.
