1- Office 365 Phishing Attack Targets Financial Execs
A new phishing scam is on the rise, targeting executives in the insurance and financial services industries to harvest their Microsoft 365 credentials and launch business email compromise (BEC) attacks, according to a new report from Area 1 Security.
2- Apple developers targeted by malicious Xcode project
Researchers reported Thursday that threat actors have abused the Run Script feature in Apple’s Xcode integrated development environment (IDE) to infect Apple developers via shared Xcode projects.
3- CopperStealer Malware Infected up to 5,000 Hosts per Day Over First Three Months of 2021
Researchers disrupted a newly documented Chinese-based malware called CopperStealer that, since significant countermeasures started in late January, infected up to 5,000 individual hosts per day, stealing credentials of users on major platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Apple, Amazon, Bing, Google, PayPal, Tumblr and Twitter.
4- FBI: Cybercrime skyrocketed in 2020, with email compromise scams accounting for 43% of losses
The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) released its annual report Wednesday, showing a sharp increase in cybercrime, both in quantity and cost in 2020.
