1- Law Firm to the Fortune 500 Breached with Ransomware

Prominent law firm Campbell Conroy & O’Neil said it fell victim to a ransomware attack five months ago that resulted in systems holding sensitive information being compromised. The firm’s client list spans many industries and includes the likes of Apple, Boeing, British Airways, Chrysler, Exxon Mobil, Fisher-Price, Ford, Honda, IBM, Jaguar, Monsanto, Toyota, and US Airways.

2- Attackers Pummeled Gaming Industry

Attacks on the gaming industry skyrocketed during the year of the pandemic, with attacks on web applications shooting up 340 percent in 2020. Cyberattack traffic targeting the video game industry took the cake during 2020, growing at a furious rate that outpaced all other industries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

3- 40% Fell Victim to a Phishing Attack in the Past Month

The global shift to remote work has exacerbated the onslaught, sophistication, and impact of phishing attacks. Nearly three-quarters (74%) of respondents said their organizations have fallen victim to a phishing attack in the last year, with 40% confirming they have experienced one in the last month.

4- Attackers Exploited 4 Zero-Day Flaws in Chrome, Safari & IE

The latest evidence of a troubling increase in zero-day exploit activity this year is three attack campaigns targeting four separate, previously unknown browser vulnerabilities that Google recently discovered and reported to the respective browser vendors.
