The percentage of media companies prone to compromise is double the number in all other industries. 50% of the top vendors providing content management solutions for the media industry have also found vulnerabilities in their products. Exploiting these vulnerabilities can lead to outages and/or content theft.

Media Companies Found Most Susceptible to Compromise

According to a new study by Bluevoyant, the percentage of media companies prone to compromise is double the number in all other industries. The supplier conducted a cybersecurity analysis of 485 organizations in the media industry. This is contained in a report on the cybersecurity problems of the media industry. The operational fix proved to be a challenging task for media companies, as 60% of the detected systems were still unprotected six weeks after the fix. 30% of the analyzed media companies are compromised due to vulnerabilities in public Internet resources.

Exploiting these vulnerabilities can lead to severe problems such as outages and/or content theft. Another problem facing the industry is the complexity of supply chains. 50% of the top vendors providing content management solutions for the media industry have also found vulnerabilities in their products.
